Should You Postpone Booking Your Next Vacation?

Lately, I've been getting a lot of inquiries from clients who are worried about booking their travel for this fall and beyond.

Their worries are completely valid.

  • Will destinations be open?

  • Will it be safe to travel?

  • What if I end up unable to afford the trip I have booked?

With the uncertainty of life, overall, these days, planning anything further out than the end of the week seems sketchy.

However, booking your trip now actually makes a lot of sense for several reasons:

  • Available rooms are going quickly. With all of the spring trips that had to be rescheduled, availability for the fall and later is getting very scarce. Waiting to book could mean not being able to get the resort, dates or room you want. This is especially true if you are planning to travel over any school holidays or during the summer.

  • Cancellation policies are pretty flexible right now.  Most resorts and airlines have relaxed their change and cancellation policies.  Many are offering refunds or will allow you to change dates without fees so, if things are not open, you can just move your trip.

  • Flight prices are climbing rapidly.  Due to the reduced schedules (which mean fewer seats), flights to some destinations are getting really expensive and availability is getting slim. The more seats sell out, the higher the cost of flights will go.

  • Create a light at the end of the tunnel. The current situation is hard on all of us. We are scared, lonely and disconnected. Giving yourself something to look forward to does a lot to take the edge off.

If you want the best pricing and availability, now is the time to secure your next reservation. Contact me at christine@moderntravelpros.com or 757-797-TRIP (8747) to discuss options with fully refundable deposits.

We don't know what will be in the future, but we are hopeful that the destinations and resorts will be up and running and you can enjoy your vacation as planned. If that turns out not to be the case, we can work to change your dates.

Where would you like to go?

Stay well!
