5 Tips For First Time Sandals Guests

With gorgeous white sand beaches, savory dining experiences, opulent accommodations, unlimited refreshing beverages, exciting water sports and more, it's no wonder why so many choose Sandals as their tropical escape. When it's time to rediscover each other, it's time for Sandals.

If this is your first vacation at Sandals Resorts, you may have some questions about what to expect.

Check out our Top 5 Tips for First-Time Sandals Guests!

Get Two (or More) Resorts in One!

All Sandals Resorts offer their own unique vibe and a wide variety of activities, dining options, and places to relax. At select Sandals Resorts, though, you can experience the atmosphere and amenities of multiple resorts! For example, guests staying at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica can take a complimentary shuttle over to Sandals Montego Bay, and vice versa. Guests staying at a Sandals Resort in Saint Lucia have access to the amenities of three beautiful resorts. If you're staying at Sandals Negril in Jamaica, you can also hop over to Beaches Negril during your visit.

Go for Club Level or Butler Rooms for Room Service

If room service is at the top of your list for your trip, be sure to opt for a Club Level or Butler-level room at your Sandals Resort. Club Level includes room service from 7AM-10PM, and Butler-level rooms include 24-hour room service! Plus, both of these levels include additional benefits for the ultimate in relaxation and pampering on your vacation. Even if you don't opt for one of these options, your Luxury-Level room will have a mini-fridge stocked with bottled water, juice, soda, and local beer.

Dress for Dinner

As you put together your packing list for your Sandals Resort, along with your swimsuit and sunscreen, you'll want to pack outfits for dinner. Most restaurants at Sandals Resorts have a casual dress code, meaning that shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops, and sneakers are fine. Some restaurants have a resort evening dress code, which includes long pants and dress shirts (with or without collar) for men and dress shoes or sandals. T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, hats and caps, shorts, sneakers, and flip-flops are not allowed at restaurants with a resort evening dress code.

Book Restaurant Reservations Upon Arrival

Once you arrive at your resort, it's best to book some dinner reservations. A few select restaurants at each resort require reservations, so you'll want to make them soon after you arrive to guarantee a table. Keep in mind that only a few restaurants require reservations - there's still a wide variety of upscale and casual dining venues that don't require prior arrangements.

Tipping is Included, With A Few Exceptions

At your Sandals Resort, gratuities are always included. In fact, Sandals are employees are prohibited from accepting tips. The only exception to this rule on your resort are the butlers, who are allowed to accept gratuities. If your butler makes your trip truly fabulous, feel free to show your appreciation.

Keep in mind that your drivers and spa personnel are not Sandals employees and can accept tips. Outside of your resort there may be some instances where it's considered appropriate to tip, such as your driver to and from your resort and tour guides for tours off your resort. US Dollars are commonly accepted in the resort areas of most Caribbean islands.
